Speak as if you were with friends, not enemies!
Currently the number one fear in the western world, and yet required in so many work and social situations, from team meetings to large-scale presentations.
Learn how to relax in the spotlight, have fun delivering your known material, and bring a smile to the faces of your audience.
Just a short note to say many thanks for the excellent sessions over the past few months to address my presentation anxiety issues. I find I now focus more on the outcome I’m looking for rather that worrying about the presentation itself. It doesn’t always go to plan (no-ones perfect!!!) but is significantly better than it was. The key is I now have the tools to continue the journey. I also understand (which you may wish to pass onto other clients) is that NLP it is not an overnight ‘cure’ but more a slow realization that only you can address the issues you are experiencing . In short NLP, for me, provides the framework within which you can grow.
I will keep you updated on progress and would like to arrange a personal ‘check and balance/mentoring’ session meeting on a quarterly basis.
Hi Steve, I hope you’re well.
Just wanted to drop you a quick line to say thank you for your support and guidance with my public speaking ‘phobia’
About four weeks ago I had to deliver a ten minute presentation to an audience of 160 with a microphone (this was the same event that had tipped me over the edge last year, resulting in a feigned illness rather than go through the prospect of potential public humiliation).
Previously my friends and family would have endured at least six weeks of hell prior to this conference, I would have swallowed enough migraine tablets to influence the share price of a small pharmaceutical company and I’m sure I’d have dropped into the depths of depression once again.
I prepped the slides one week before the conference (PowerPoint but with pictures only so that I didn’t get myself into a mess trying to memorise scripts), practiced a couple of times and then parked the worry until the night before. The day was daunting but I kept myself busy beforehand and although it wasn’t the best presentation in the world, no one laughed etc and I got through it.
Last week, we had the C*** M********** awards and although it was only five minutes of public speaking to an audience of about 200, I wanted to use the event to put everything you’d coached me through into practice and finally put my demons to bed (no pressure!!)
I thought it had gone pretty well but was blown away when two of my respected colleagues asked me afterwards how I felt their own speeches had gone and later that evening a lady approached me and said that my speech had sounded so genuine that it had given her goosebumps - exactly the reaction I’d been hoping for!!
I’ve finally recognised (eight years later) that it’s perfectly normal to be nervous before public speaking, I’ve stopped scaring my monkey to death weeks before the event and I actually see the experience as an opportunity to learn & develop my communication skills.
So I just wanted to take this opportunity to say a big thank you for not burning lots of incense @ our first meeting, for your intelligent, balanced conversation and for quickly building enough rapport with me that I trusted you enough to help me.
Steve has a wonderful way of immediately putting you at ease.
Through his help I was able to confront my fears of public speaking, attend a public hearing and present my case successfully to a large audience.
Before I would never of dreamed of doing this!
Steve's approach is kind, caring and he creates an environment that is safe to voice any concerns you may have.
My confidence has grown
so much and has opened up a world of possibilities.
I am living a much happier existence due to his amazing skills.
If I ever need that extra support I know Steve is there.
There are special people, that by being here help to make 'your world' a better place. Steve is one of them.
Gratitude and many thanks.
